Who is Nick Michalopoulos?
Nick studied Physics at the University of Patras. He has conducted research in exercise science, biomechanics and strength training, alongside notable researchers like Dr Eric Helms, Dr James Steele and Dr Pak Androulakis-Korakakis. As a coach he has worked with powerlifters and general strength trainees (ages 18–50).
He is an assistant coach of the Hellenic Powerlifting Team, with international experience at major open, junior and university championships. Nick is also the Head Coach of the Powerlifting Club at the University of Southampton.

Upon deciding to begin your journey, a bespoke training plan will be designed, tailored to your goals. This plan will be fine-tuned and updated based on your progress, ensuring its compliance to your evolving needs and challenges.
3. Deeper understanding
Through the daily or weekly feedback process, depending on which coaching tier you choose, we will gain a deeper understanding of how to own your technique and response in order to better equip you with a programme that will help you accomplish your goals.

Since I began training with Nick in June 2024, I’ve experienced remarkable improvements in several areas:

From Injury Recovery to Peak Performance
Through Nick’s coaching I have been able to go from regional to national level comps. We are now focusing on being very competitive within nationals. Even though I had a bad lower back injury and some adductor issues, Nick worked to change my technique and programme to focus on recovery and building up those weaknesses. From this I was able to deadlift pain free for the first time in years and gained a lot of strength in the process. Nick is very intuitive in his approach and really knows how to tailor a program to an individual.

Having dealt with chronic back pain, both the training and psychological approach were very helpful for me and immediately had an impact. I feel much calmer when it comes to pain, plateaus and setbacks, and I have a lot of trust in the process as a whole. Communication is effective and pleasant. Also the energy on meet day was fantastic and took all of the pressure off of me -I didn’t concern myself with anything except lifting what was on the bar.
